March, April, May, and ELLEN

Remember when we went on the Ellen DeGeneres show?! And how Kevin became an overnight superstar to all of our friends and family a month later when he got shown on 3 more episodes!

We had been wanting to be in the Ellen audience for years, but with our moving deadline coming up soon in May we knew we needed to get serious about applying for tickets! Then one day in January I got an email saying that I received 4 standby tickets! My sister Jocie (who also lived in SoCal at the time) is super a huge Ellen fan and her birthday was coming up, so there was definitely no question about who else we were going with.

The day finally came for show's taping! Kevin and I stayed the night at an Airbnb in Burbank so we could wake up early to get our standby tickets. BUT unfortunately, we forgot our suitcase at home 😩  so I dropped Kevin off at the studio and drove home to get dressed and grab him some clothes too. Since Matt and Jocie couldn't come until the afternoon because of Matt's work they came by and picked me up on their way to Burbank 😃

We love carpooling!

Super excited for Ellen!

So amped up

Jocie's birthday favours: this 100% helped us to get into the audience because the producers thought we were funny

Kevin won this shirt, but it's mine now because it's too small for him 🎉

Our audience gifts: $150 prepaid visas, a lifetime meditation app subscription, and a CD!

We had so much fun at the Ellen show!

A couple weeks after our episode aired Kevin's singing and dancing were shown 3 more times on other episodes! He's basically Canadian famous to everyone we know 😉

The FUNNIEST part of going to Ellen was that Kevin wrote part one of boards the next morning.

The day after Kevin's boards we went back to Canada for Holly and Nathan's wedding! It was such a fun week!

Kevin (bless his optometry skills) was able to sign up to do a weekend screening in Indio. Where he just so happened to receive free VIP coachella tickets for the first weekend! I've wanted to go to Coachella since high school, so it was a huge bucket list moment for sure. The bands we saw were amazing, and the crowds were not. But overall I'm so glad we were able to go without forking out a fortune!

Here's some pictures from right before we left California in May. I miss that blue ocean!

We loved living near the village in Claremont, everything was so cute!

Those west coast sunsets 😍

Last bonfire with our optometry friends!

And then we moved to Philly!
